December 30 What a Year!It has been some time since I last posted here in which was 9 months ago and a lot has happened since then. After the death of my King I became involved with animals especially helping Pit Bulls. Between signing petitions, fostering, saving a life, transporting, fundraisers and donating tons of money in helping a dog get well again. It took me a long time to really take a hard look at the suffering these animals go through and there is no excuse how our society treat these animals. They are like a family member and people have no regards for them. I can go on and on about this just as I would if I saw the majority of abused children in our society.
In June, my daughter presented me a granson - Justin Manuel Ayala - June 17th - 9.5 lbs - 21" - BIG BOY! I quit my job so I can care for him and was having a blast watching him grow. My animal rescue and babysitting has been put on temporary hold since my devistating news of my husband having lung cancer on Novemember 2. Ironic, Novemember is Lung Cancer Awareness Month! He went in with pneumonia that completely filled up his right lung and that lung being filled with cancer. He is fighting agressive chemotherapy and we are waiting word to see if any of this chemotherapy is shrinking this cancer. If it is, then we will go to the next step with radiation on top of chemotherapy. So far, he isn't really sick, sick with the chemo. The Cancer Association has come along way with chemo.
I still need to take care of me and still need to do some of the things I enjoy doing and that is playing around with my digital graphics or I will go insane. So, for my end of the year freebie gift is this template. This is an example finished look. Click onto the folder to fetch template.
March 21 Totally HipIn Memory of King - July 4, 2003 - March 15, 2008
This has been a rather difficult week for me. Saturday, unexpectly my beloved King, one of our 5 dogs passed away. We have no idea why as he seemed fine when he was outside playing with my son and his friend. Later on that evening my son found him and lucky his friend knows CPR and did CPR on the dog but he didn't make it. The dog was everyone's dog but King was more my son's dog. My son refuses to go into his bedroom since that is where he found him. It will take time for him heal.
I was working on this scrap kit at the time of our dogs death and was able to finish it this morning. This is another rather large kit and you will not see everything in the preview. I hope you like it.
March 03 A Modern TouchI have been watching a lot of HGTV to get some remodeling ideas for my house. I was inspired to do this kit from the color scheme that I have seen in many homes. While I like the colors but I am not sure I use them in my home. Too modern for me. My colors are warm colors. I like the dark colors such as fall colors. Now, to incorporate those colors in my home is another thing. Love to hire a interior decorator for that.
Anyway, this kit is rather large that I have broken the kit down to 3 files. I just kept creating away for two days that I had to force myself to stop. On a note, I have been reading a lot of drama in some groups concerning freebies and copyright stuff. If you like to share my kit, it is best just to show the preview and direct them to the blog. This way no one gets confused if they can share or not.

February 18 St. Patrick's Day KitI have been very busy and haven't had the time to create a scrap kit until now. My email have been so out of control as well.
I am in the process of closing my summer house up in Vermont that I had to sell. This is very hard for me since I have been going up there for 50 years. At least I can still go up there and stay at either my sister or brother's house that is on the same road. Perhaps one day I can buy the cottage back in which I sold to a good friend of the family.

February 04 Tutorials -Scrap TagsI thought I share some of my favorite tutorial sites that have given me some inspirations. There are a lot of great tutorial writers out there. It is time consuming to write these tutorials so do not ever claim them as yours. This is why I may use some of their ideas and change the layout, color, image etc to make it my creation. However, the material used is theirs or from other designers. This is just a small sample of sites that are Scrap tag tutorials. It is a great way of learning and I am forever wanting to learn a new technique. |
